Japanese Cultural Festival (JAN) 2008

The NUS Japanese Cultural Festival was successfully held from 22nd January to 24th January 2008. This year’s theme is SEASONS, spring, summer, autumn, winter. The Bazaar is held along the walkway connecting The Deck and the Central Library. The walkway is divided into 4 sectors in which each sector hold a theme of its own.

In the left photo, you can see the First Detail preparing the games. Our games include Hoop as well as Balloons. Decorations are hang up along the walkway. In the photo on the right above, you can see Teru Teru Bozu being put up.

This is our Hoop game. The main prize is the HUGE Doraemon you see sitting on the table. I believe most of you who actually walked pass the venue would definitely have seen it. (^w^). The student in the green shirt in the photo on the right managed to win the 1st prize, which is a pack of Japanese goodies. (For your info, Doraemon is SPECIAL Prize, haha)

You can see our neighbours, friends from Sado. Yes, if you notice, the person who is standing up and stretching his hand forward is the winner of the First Prize previously.
The balloons in the second photo is imported from abroad. These balloons are Yo-Yo kinds, which are used during Natsu Matsuri(Japanese Summer Festival).

During one of the night when we stayed to guard, Japanese Studies Society members actually had a steamboat! We bought stuff from Sheng Siong and had a feast that night. It was a night worth remembering, not to forget our “Game” as well as the number of ants that night. Hahaha.

There’s our zoomup view on the faces of some of the Teru Teru Bozu. Ain’t they cute? Haha. Anyway, we’ll see you at the Japanese Cultural Festival ‘09, and we promise it’ll definitely be much better and more fun than this year’s!
